A Passion for Paleontology
John Bowers IV started the Bowers Fossil Museum to share his fossil collection and his love for all things prehistoric with the people in his community. His passion for paleontology began at a very young age. By 11 years old, he had gone on his first real fossil dig and came home with a full Triceratops rib. From then on, John was hooked on fossil hunting. While he lives for digs in Texas, Wyoming and his other favorite fossil hunting locations around the United States, he can't even pass a load of gravel here in Louisiana without stopping to look for crinoid fossils.
John found he really enjoyed sharing his fossil collection and knowledge about prehistoric life with friends and family at his home, and now he is so excited to get to share them with everyone who comes to the museum.
